- Does the library have public phones?
- The library does not currently have any public phones available.

- Where can I
do word processing in the library?
- Computers with Microsoft Office are located
in the Information & Technology Services computer lab located on the first floor,
just inside the South entrance to the building. Microsoft Office software is also
available inside the library on the computers in the Reference area as well as in the computer lab (located near the library entrance where the copy center used to be) and on the computers located in the tower section of the library (on the 2nd to 5th floors of the library). Students should use their student id to login to the computers. Any materials printed from the computers can be picked up at the Circulation Desk.

- Does the library have typewriters?
- Typewriters are available in Media Services on the first floor of the library.

- There are copy machines in Media
Services and near the third floor tower elevator.

- Where can I buy disks, pens, etc.?

- A vending machine with office supplies is located on the second floor of
the library near Periodicals.

- Does the library have textbooks being used in ASU courses?
- While the library may occasionally have a textbook that is being used in
an ASU course, as a general rule textbooks are not ordered for the library.

- How do I access databases from off-campus?
- Students currently enrolled in courses for credit through ASU Jonesboro are entitled to full access privileges to the online databases available through
our website. When you attempt to access the databases from off-campus, you will be prompted to enter your ASU email address and ID number. The ID number should be entered with no spaces or dashes between the digits. If you have problems with off-campus
access, contact Wendy Crist
by email or phone (870)972-2964. If you need to report access problems
during breaks or holidays when the library is closed, please call (870)
680-4312.

- Must I be an ASU student or employee to use the library?
- Members of the community are welcome to use the library and may also
check out materials if they sign up for a Community Borrowers Card.

- May I borrow materials if I am not an ASU student or employee?
- Yes, community borrowers may check out two items at a time. For more
information see the Circulation Department's Policies page.

- How many items can students check out?
- Undergraduates may check out 20 books for 30 days.
Graduate students may check out a maximum of 40 items at a time for a 45 day loan period. There is a 3 day grace period beyond the due date before fines are assessed. Overdue charges for most books are 25 cents per day per book with no maximum. For more information see the Circulation

- How do I obtain books and articles if they are not available at Ellis Library?
- If Ellis Library does not have print or electronic access to books and
articles, they may be obtained through our Interlibrary Loan service.

- How do I request materials for the library?
- To request a purchase, contact Collection Development by mail, phone, or
the online request form available at: http://www.library.astate.edu/bookrequests

- How do I renew materials?
- General Collection books may be renewed twice, unless another patron has
requested the book. You must renew the books before the due date. You can
renew the books through the online catalog by calling your personal record
and indicating which item(s) to renew. After clicking on the "Renew
Items" button, verify the new due date, and report any problems to the
Circulation Desk as soon as possible. Books from the General Collection may
also be brought to the Circulation Desk and recharged. Once you have used up
your two renewals, you must physically bring the books in to check them back
out.

- How do I see what I have checked out?
- You may check your library record by going to the library catalog and
choosing the "Your Library Record" tab.

- What is netLibrary?
- netLibrary provides complete electronic versions of books on a variety
of subjects. netLibrary books are searchable in ELLIS, the
online catalog, as well as by clicking the netLibrary link on the Article Databases page.

- Where can I find items put on reserve by my instructor?
- When an instructor places items on reserve, they are kept behind
the Circulation Desk on the 2nd floor of the Library. Go
to the Circulation desk and give your instructor's name. If you
need to see what materials your instructor has placed on reserve, use
the Course
Reserve search in the online catalog. Be sure to choose the
Course Reserve tab at the top of the search box.

- Where can I find an atlas?
- All atlases are located near the Interlibrary Loan office near the Reference Desk on the 2nd
floor.

- How do I find a legal case?
- You can find legal cases in both online and print formats. Online cases are
found using the article database Lexis-Nexis. In Lexis-Nexis, choose
the Legal tab and enter appropriate information to find a case. For more specific information, choose a link on the right of the screen under the heading "Legal Searches". Specific search options include Federal & State Cases, Tax Law, etc.
A variety of reference books in the Legal Reference Stacks will also give
you legal cases.

resources, contact the Reference Desk at 870-972-3208, visit the desk on the 2nd floor of the
library, or email library staff using the "contact library staff" link at the bottom of this web page.
