MISSION

We strive to provide vital, balanced, and technologically sophisticated information resources that advance the university community's pursuit, development, and sharing of knowledge.  We will develop and maintain collections of print and electronic books and serial publications, audiovisuals, and other print and non-print media, both current and retrospective, that support teaching, research, and community service.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The Acquisitions Department, located on the ground floor of the Dean B. Ellis Library, is the division of the library responsible for collection development, new material processing, preservation of library materials and continuations monitoring.  This includes monographs, journals, microforms, CD-ROMs and other media.  We maintain the library's materials budget, inventory the collections and solicit book and serial donations for the library.  On average, we process approximately 5000 requests per year.  We also manage journal subscriptions numbering approximately 1800.
