Download Procedures

This procedure creates a folder named "SFSCHLR" on your hard drive. You will need to download both of the files below in order to run SciFinder Scholar.
  1. Click on the download link below and choose "Run" or "save file". If you choose "save file" then you will have to open the file and choose "run" once the file is saved to your desktop.
  2. If you receive a warning message you may have to click "Run" a second time. Next, choose "Setup" and allow the sfs2007.exe program to install SciFinder Scholar to your hard drive. Please note that this process will create a folder on your root directory ('C' drive) called "SFSCHLR" (C:\SFSCHLR). When the program asks "Do you have a disk labeled Custom Site Files?" answer "No". If asked if you want to install the toolbar, answer "No".
  3. Now right click on the link below and choose the option "Save As " and save the file to the newly created SFSCHLR directory (C:\SFSCHLR). The file name should be site.prf
    Site Preferences File

  4. Installation is now complete. To use the SciFinder Scholar database you can either run the program by going to "Start-->All Programs-->SciFinder Scholar 2007" or find the program on your 'C' drive at "C:/SFSCHLR/sfschlr.exe". You may also create a shortcut to the program and place it on your desktop.
