Ingenta Pay-Per-View Document Delivery Account Policies and Procedures
For ASU Faculty not Affiliated with the Arkansas Biosciences Institute

1. Accounts are available to any researcher who does not have an affiliation (faculty member or post-doctoral researcher) with the Arkansas Biosciences Institute on the ASU – Jonesboro campus.

2. Account holders will receive subsidized access to pay-per-view articles using the Ingenta database. Each account holder will have a set amount of funding available to them for the purchase of pay-per-view articles ($100 per account). Researchers may deposit additional funds from non-library sources (personal funds, contract and grant funds, other external funds, etc.) at any time.

3. To receive an account, a completed Ingenta Pay-Per-View Document Delivery Account Application (attached) must be submitted to the appropriate Dean B. Ellis Library personnel. Once a completed application is received, an account for that individual researcher will be established and the account holder will be notified of their unique login and password for using Ingenta services.

4. As funds are limited for this service, account holders must not share their login and/or password with others.

5. Individual account activity will be monitored for excessive use, and the Dean B. Ellis Library reserves the right to cancel accounts for excessive or improper use.

6. Account holders should not request pay-per-view access to articles from journals held by the Dean B. Ellis Library. Repeated requesting of such articles constitutes evidence of improper use of account privileges.

7. Accounts will be issued until the available funds have been allocated. Additional accounts may be issued if additional funding becomes available.

8. Accounts will be set with a cumulative spending limit. If all of the funds for an individual account are spent, the account holder may request that additional funds be placed in the account. Such a request may or may not be granted. Among factors that will be considered when evaluating a request for additional funds are any signs of excessive or improper use of the account and the availability of additional funds.

9. Account holders are encouraged to use the Interlibrary Loan services of the Dean B. Ellis Library to request articles when time permits, and to use the Ingenta pay-per-view services only when articles are needed quickly.

10. Account holders will be notified by the Dean B. Ellis Library if the service is suspended for any reason.

11. It is strongly advised that article files received online via pdf download be saved or printed when they are received. Ingenta will charge the account each time an article is requested/purchased, regardless of whether the article has been previously requested by the account holder.
